![]() Another thing I love about them is that their songs are always really meaningful and are full of substance they’re never just thrown together for the sake of writing a song. Generally speaking, my first impression is that they’re digging a little deeper into their more hardcore roots because right off the bat with the first track, “Prisoners”, they’re not holding back any screams, and that makes this girl very, very happy. What I love right off the bat is the length of the album! With 11 songs, it has a lot more to offer than “Oak Island”‘s 7-song track list. Since their last release of “Oak Island” in November of 2013, us OLN fans have been itching for a new full-length. We chat via social media during their tours pretty frequently, talking about our mutual friends and giving me advice when I’m unlucky in love or in life. Woody and I actually exchanged leisure reading books last time I saw him and he taught me yoga moves. I’ve not only had the pleasure of seeing them live a few times (especially their 10th anniversary show last summer- INCREDIBLE), but also meeting them all a couple times and becoming really friendly with Woody, and they are nothing short of dedicated and all-around awesome people. See how things pan out? You can thank them for that (lol).Īnyway, the OLN guys are not only musically gifted, but amazing and kind people. Until then, the band had been through a bit of a rough patch, but their success with that video inspired and pushed them to keep moving forward, and thank God they did. The one that caught the eyes and ears of people nationwide was their cover of “ Skyfall” by Adele– hers was featured in the recent James Bond movie, but in my opinion their version blows hers out of the water. THAT’S when they started getting huge attention. Alex “Woody” Woodrow – bass, backing vocalsĪ couple summers ago, they started releasing not only their own material, but posting covers on YouTube.Matt Wentworth – lead/co-lead clean vocals, guitar, occasional piano.Trevor Wentworth – lead/co-lead clean and scream vocals, acoustic guitar. They’ve had some lineup changes since their beginnings, but their current and most likely permanent lineup now consists of four guys. They’re an American post-hardcore band hailing from New Hampshire (that sometimes adopt the “Boston band” category) that actually came together 11 years ago. ![]() If you don’t know too much about them, here’s some info. They don’t accept or release less than incredible material for us, and put on great live performances to match. If you’ve been lucky enough to see them live, then you know the OLN dudes take their craft, their job, and their fans very, very seriously. ![]() Hey music lovers!
